  • What exactly does the term remodelling mean?

Remodelling means melting down your gold and forming it into a new style. If you have gemstones to use, we’ll re-set them into your new design too.

I currently wear yellow gold, but I’d love to switch to platinum, can this be done?

Absolutely! Book remodelling for this service.

Can you source diamonds and gemstones?

Of course – we have contacts to some of the best in the industry and Shirley (F.G.A, Diamond Dip.) can provide guidance on choosing the best stone for your project.

Where do you source your diamonds from?

Shirley has worked closely with a trusted diamond merchant in Glasgow throughout her 40 years in the industry. Our supplier sources the diamonds from all over the world and these stones must adhere to the Kimberly Process, which ensures diamonds are conflict free.

We can also source lab-grown diamonds if you prefer, just get in touch with our team.

    Is remodelling environmentally friendly?

Re-using material will always have less of an environmental impact than sourcing new, and this most certainly applies to jewellery. Using existing diamonds, and old gold, is the best choice if you are hoping to minimise your carbon footprint when considering a jewellery project.

    How long does it take?

Once you have booked your piece with us by paying your deposit, your piece will take 10-12 weeks to make.

Can you give me an idea of how much remodelling costs?

    Read more about costing here.

How much of a deposit do I pay?

We require a 50% deposit to proceed with your commission.

We’re really passionate about jewellery remodelling, and all the benefits it has, read more here.

I would like to browse your collection, leave jewellery to be repaired or ask advice about something, when can I visit?

What sort of repairs do you do?

We re-size rings, supply new settings/strengthen existing settings (also known as re-tipping), rhodium plate and value jewellery.

When can I bring my repair to you?

Our shop is open on Fridays between 1.30pm-5pm, for clients to visit with repairs or ask advice. We are closed to the public outside of these hours in order to manufacture our bespoke jewellery & carry out repair work.

How long does repair work take?

We quote 4 weeks for repair work, and this may increase during busy periods such as Christmas.

Why do your jewellery repairs take longer?

We have an excellent reputation for reliable and quality repair work- this means our workshop receives a reasonable volume of jewellery repairs. Refunds will be made to the original form of payment within 7-10 working days.

  • How do I clean my jewellery?

We recommend that you bring your jewellery back to us every year to have it cleaned & checked by our jewellers. This will allow us to pick up on any accidental damage and carry out any maintenance work required.

    How much does cleaning cost?

Our cleaning service is free of charge. Donations, large or small, for our chosen charity, The Beatson, are welcome.

    Should I insure my jewellery?

We recommend insuring your jewellery if it is valued over £1000.00 to cover any accidental damage or loss. When we create a bespoke piece, we will supply a valuation as part of our service and can recommend a bespoke jewellery insurer.

As well as being known to have a unique design flare, our small company is renowned for our exceptional customer relationships.

Where is your jewellery made, and who makes it?

Our jewellery is made at our workshop in Larkhall, Central Scotland by Shirley and Hannah, Raymond- our experienced maker and our trainee jewellers, Nadine and William. We are very proud to make our pieces here in Scotland, as our beautiful country has been the source of inspiration for countless designs. Read more about our story.

I have gold and gemstones that I no longer wear, can you use them to make something that’s more to my taste?

Yes, absolutely. We can help you transform your sentimental gold/platinum and precious gemstones into one of our own styles or a one-off piece.

I don’t know what I want to have made, can you help?

Absolutely- many of our clients visit without knowing what they want, but don’t worry- once you start trying pieces on, the ideas will start to flow. It’s our job to listen to your needs and suggest options which best suit each individual client.

Do you use recycled materials?

Since the majority of our work is re-modelling, most of the time we are working with heirloom gold and pre-owned diamonds/gemstones. Any new gold which we have cast by our casting house is done so in 100% recycled gold/platinum.

I’m un-sure which appointment type suits me best- can you help?

Our appointments are split into remodelling/bespoke jewellery or personal shopping consultations.

If you have your own materials to work with such as inherited gold and gemstones, then remodelling/bespoke is the one for you. Similarly, if you have no materials, and would like to have us supply the gold & diamonds (for example, an engagement ring, wedding ring, or anniversary gift) then please select remodelling/bespoke jewellery. If you would like to view a specific diamond during your appointment (such as a 1ct marquise cut etc), please let us know beforehand so we can arrange a selection for you.

Personal shopping is an appointment for those seeking to browse our collection on a more private basis with our designers, for this our shop door will be closed and the store will be yours for up to 1 hour.
